What is "NETI" kriya in yoga

 INTRODUCTION :

As we have discussed earlier in the previous blog that there are six kriyas which are called "SHAT KRIYAS" in yoga which help to clean the body internally so that the practitioner of yoga can improve the practice quality day by day.

Here we will discuss what is NETI KRIYA in detail.

Meaning of neti:

The kriya which is done to clean the nosal passage internally is called the neti kriya which is most favorite of people among the SHAT KRIYAS.

Types of neti :

There are two types of neti

1) sutra neti( सूत्र नेति)

2) jal neti(जल नेति)

Let's discuss sutra neti first.....

1) Sutra neti (  सूत्र नेति)

Here sutra neti is also can be done by two different prompts one is "Katheter" Which is a rubber pipe And the other is called "sutar" Which is a thin knitted cotton . Do it wisely under the supervision of yog coach.

ACCORDING TO GHERAD SAMHITA

" सूत्रम् वितस्तिसुस्निग्धं नासानाले प्रवेशयेत् |

 मुखान्निर्गमेयच्चैषा नेतिः सिध्दैनिध्यते ||

Which means that " To enter thin and soft thread which is one a bit long in nose and, take that out from mouth is called NETI.

Method of making cotton sutra neti:

Take sutar (cotton thread) of 4mm width and 600 mm long.

Deep half of the thread in the wax and make it little bit hard.

Rest of the cotton will b in the natural form .

Keep it into sunlight and after wash use it while neti kriya.

Kathetar neti :

When both the nosal are close with the mucus then to enter soft pipe into nose and take it from mouth and clean the nosal passage is called catheter neti.

Catheter is 1ft long pipe which has one small Hall on the one end of the pipe for air circulation, and the other side of the soft catheter is open as pipe.

Different number's catheters are available in the market in surgical stores but for neti person should use " No 3 or No 4 " Size's catheter which shows the 3 to 4 mm size.

This number shows the diameter of the catheter.

Before using the catheter it should be washed properly in warm water.Because if person use catheter without wasing the bacteria on the catheter will enter in nose and chances of infection will increase.

Use it wisely under supervision of yog coach.

Jal neti :

1) vyutkrama jal neti ( व्युत क्रम जल नेति)

2) shitkrama jal neti (नित क्रम जल नेति)

1) vyutkrama jal neti (व्युत क्रम जल नेति)

Process :

First type :

Mix little bit salt in to the warm water.

Filter the water with clean cloth into the jal pot.

Keep ur head up as you are looking at sky and enter the water in your nose . Automatically it will come to your mouth .

keep that water into your mouth and then spit it out.

This will clean nosal passage internally with the help of waterflow.

Second type:

Bend your head on the right side and enter the water from your left nose and water will automatically comes in right nose.

Bend your head on the left side and enter the water from your right nose and water will automatically comes in left nose.

Do this neti kriya under the supervision of yog coach then practitioner can do it alone.

2) Shitkrama jalneti (  शित क्रम जल नेति)

 Steps :
